Posted At Craig Harbour N.W.T. on Aug 22, 1939. Received at Plain Dealing, Louisiana on Sep 27. The stamp is Scott's 248 issued to commemorate the first time the ruling monarch visited Canada.

The Nascopie was a Hudson's Bay Company Royal Mail ship. Built in 1911, it was a 2500 ton 285 1/2 foot long-steamer icebreaker. In July of 1912, the Nascopie set sail to supply the HBO's northern outposts. It was refitted from 1930 until 1933 when she sailed again. From 1933 until 1941 tourists where allowed to sail but this was stopped because of fears to the health of the Inuit.

A very nice cover!
