We at The Bramalea Stamp Club would like to thank those who attended our show. While the weather was harsh, the show managed to be of our best attended shows. We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did and that you will drop by to one of our club meetings. As with any show, a number of people are responsible for its success. First of all, a big thank you goes to club president Bob Thorne. Bob was responsible for the overall organization of the show, but as usual, he went above and beyond. Bob was there early in the morning to co-ordinate the setup of the gym and to encourage new members to exhibit. A big thank you to Ron Feero for getting the dealers. As well, a thank you for all the dealers who travelled to our show. A big thank you to Paul Williamswho looked after the club books. A note of thanks goes to Don Garlick who gave Paul lots of help. A real big thank you to Ron Walker and Paul Nicholls who looked after the club auctions. A thank you to club treasurer Geoff Green who looked after the finances for the show. A big thank you to Bill Dean and Dick Jansen who sold draw tickets and were our door greeters. Thanks toRhonda Kavanagh who handled the snack bar. To Jerry Piotrowski, Joe Trauzzi, Bob Thorne, Don Garlick and Ingo Nessel for helping with the setup of the gym and the exhibits. |
During the show Garfield Portch, editor of PhilaJournal, presented club member Ron Walker with a Greater Toronto Area Philatelic Alliance
Certificate of Merit in recognition of the work Ron has done for the club for many years. As well as being Bob Thorne’s assistant at the Sunday club
auctions Ron has for years run the table auctions at the annual shows. He is also instrumental in obtaining door prizes from the dealers. Ron always shows
up for our second meeting each December but for some reason always seems to be missing when Santa Claus arrives with gifts for everyone in attendance.
Surprisingly Ron somehow wanders back to the meeting after Santa has left.

Special thanks to Garfield Portch. Garfield took the time to look over new exhibits and made a number of helpful comments and provided encouragement to all exhibitors. I know our new exhibitors appreciated your time and comments. Thank you Garfield! |
Don Garlick is an avid United States collector. Don displayed a very nice exhibit showing "The Liberty Series". |
